Darsa Organic Brown Basmati Rice: Fluffy and Flavorful
Darsa Organics Brown Basmati Rice offers a healthy and delicious to white rice. This aromatic long-grain rice features a delicate nutty flavor and cooks up fluffy and separate. Enjoy it as a base for curries, stir-fries, or a simple side dish.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup Darsa Organics Brown Basmati Rice
- 2 cups Water
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt (optional)
Preparation:
- Rinse the rice in a fine-mesh strainer under cold running water until the water runs clear. This removes excess starch for a fluffy texture.
- In a medium saucepan, combine the rinsed rice, water, and salt (if using). Bring to a boil over high heat.
- Once boiling, reduce heat to low, cover the pot tightly with a lid, and simmer for 40-45 minutes, or until the rice is tender and all the water is absorbed.
- Remove from heat and let stand for 5 minutes before fluffing with a fork. This allows the rice to steam and finish cooking.
Notes:
- For an even richer flavor, toast the rinsed rice in a tablespoon of ghee or butter over medium heat for a few minutes before adding the water.
- Want to add some extra veggies? Include chopped carrots, peas, or diced bell peppers with the rice when you add the water.
- Leftover rice can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently in a covered saucepan or microwave until warmed thorough.
